At DLRC, my role as a Creative Educator and Visual Designer focused on fostering experiential learning through project-based methodologies. I designed and implemented educational tools and activities that emphasized hands-on learning and deep cognitive engagement for students across different age groups. These projects, ranging from academic illustrations to interactive science activities, encouraged students to explore concepts creatively and collaboratively
Vision and Innovation
The vision of the DLRC projects was to make education a more interactive and enjoyable process by utilizing project-based learning (PBL). Innovation came through integrating visual design, storytelling, and cultural appreciation into learning. I developed projects like nature-inspired science activities and comic books that not only supported academic learning but also allowed students to connect with subjects emotionally and creatively
Identifying Unique Challenges
A key challenge was designing educational content that catered to diverse cognitive levels while ensuring students remained engaged throughout the process. Additionally, maintaining a balance between academic rigor and creative exploration proved difficult in a classroom setting. Encouraging students to take ownership of their learning was another hurdle, especially when dealing with complex subjects like cultural heritage and environmental science
Resolving Complex Problems
To address these challenges, I employed Bloom's Taxonomy to structure lessons progressively, ensuring a smooth transition from basic recall to higher-order thinking. I also created academic illustrations and visual tools that made difficult concepts more accessible. By organizing exhibitions and workshops, I provided students with platforms to showcase their work, which boosted engagement and allowed for hands-on learning
User-Centric Design
The projects were designed with the students’ interests and learning styles in mind, ensuring each activity was interactive, visually appealing, and aligned with their academic needs. From comic books that reflected literature to cultural zines and recipe books, the projects emphasized creativity and collaboration. The use of illustrations and project-based activities made learning an enjoyable experience, encouraging deeper engagement
